Twelve accessible parking spaces are located in the Rogers Street parking area on the west side of Switchyard Park. It is approximately 133′ from the accessible parking spaces to the west entrance of the Switchyard Park Pavilion, across the asphalt parking lot and permeable pavers on the Pavilion plaza. The west Pavilion entrance is equipped with automatic openers and has assisted entry.
Separate men’s and women’s restrooms, each with one accessible stall, are available for private rentals and public events that take place inside the Switchyard Park Pavilion. Changing stations are located in each of the men’s and women’s restrooms.

A limited amount of shade under small trees is available on the plaza immediately north of the Pavilion.
Restrooms
The Community Foundation Switchyard Plaza Spray Pad restroom has six individual changing rooms that include a toilet with grab bars and a hand washing sink with air dryers. Restroom doors are steel with accessible hardware. There is a baby changing station located in each restroom.
Restrooms are open April through October from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. During the spray pad season, Memorial Day through the end of September, the restrooms are open from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. daily.
Admission to the Community Foundation Switchyard Plaza Spray Pad is free. The spray pad is wheelchair accessible.
The spray pad is composed of 90 ground-mounted spray nozzles and misters that spray water into the air. The spray pad is a closed system that recycles water. New water is only added to replenish water lost to evaporation and spray loss. The spray pad uses multiple filter systems including a basket filter, sand filter, and UV filter.
The spray pad surface is concrete and pavers. Shaded seating at picnic tables (some picnic tables have extended tops for use by people who use wheelchairs) is available on the north side of the spray pad. Seating on wooden benches and on limestone blocks is available around the perimeter of the spray pad.
Two PVC water chairs, one adult size and one child size, are available for use at no charge. To request use of a water chair, contact the spray pad attendant (at the spray pad, wearing a Parks vest).
Switchyard Park Sport Courts, Community Garden and Fitness Stations
Basketball, bocce ball and pickleball courts are located on the north side of Switchyard Park. A total of 12 accessible parking spaces are available in the Grimes Lane parking area, also on the north side of Switchyard Park.
About 200′ of concrete sidewalk connects the basketball court and pickleball courts on the east side of the courts; the asphalt, accessible B-Line Trail goes past the sport courts immediately to the west. Bocce ball courts are an additional 200′ south of the pickleball courts; an additional four accessible parking spaces are available in the Grimes Lane parking area between the pickleball and bocce ball courts.
Four additional accessible parking spaces are available directly adjacent to the fitness stations, with 50′ of sidewalk and poured-in-place rubber surfacing terrain between the accessible parking and the fitness stations.
Switchyard Park’s community garden with its signature water storage tower and accessible raised garden beds is located 157′ south of the fitness stations along accessible sidewalks.
Numerous park bench seating options are available in the Sport Court area of Switchyard Park, with benches surrounding each of the sport courts. While there are young trees in this area of the park, most of the sport court area is in full sun.
